COMEDK UGET 2020 Exam Schedule, Exam Pattern, Application Process in Detail

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET)  is a state-level exam conducted for admission to Undergraduate engineering programmes offered by colleges in the state of Karnataka. Earlier, the exam was also conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS courses; however, now NEET score is considered for medical/ dental admissions. Every year, more than ninety thousand students apply for approximately 20,000 engineering seats in the state offered by 181 colleges. Eligible candidates from all the states in India can apply for the exam.


COMEDK UGET 2019 exam was conducted on 12th May 2019 and the result for the same was announced on 27th May 2019. The counselling process had started on 1st July 2019. However, here the article will focus on the COMEDK 2020 exam. The schedule will be tentative based on the 2019 dates. Latest Update – The COMEDK 2020 exam is scheduled to be conducted in the 1st week of June 2020. The exact exam date is likely to be announced in the first week of May. The last date of submitting the applications has been extended till 5th May 2020.

COMEDK UGET 2020 – Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility condition for admission to engineering courses through COMEDK UGET exam is mentioned below. The key eligibility criterion is the qualifying examination. Here are the details:


Qualifying Examination for Engineering Admission


  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or second PUC or any other equivalent examination from a recognised board with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Karnataka) taken together in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.


  • Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects but instead of Chemistry, candidates who have studied Biology/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as one of the optional subjects are also eligible.


  • Candidates must have studied the compulsory and optional subjects along with English in the last two years.


Note: The is no lateral admission. So, candidates with a Diploma in Engineering are not eligible for appearing in the exam.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Application Process


COMEDK authorities provide the UGET application forms online at the official website. There is no other way of applying for the examination. The application forms Candidates are required to submit their completed applications within the specified time period.   • Visit the official website –
  • Click on the registration link for Engineering Application.
  • Enter the details such as candidate’s name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, etc. and submit them for registration. On successful registration, a user ID and Password will be sent to the registered ID. Make sure you provide a valid email ID and Mobile number as communication regarding the exam will be done through email or SMS.


Completing the Application Form


  • Now, log-in using the user ID and password to complete the remaining application form. You are required to provide personal and academic details.
  • Check all the details carefully before submitting the application form.


Uploading Scanned Documents


Now upload the scanned images of the required documents. It is advised to get the scanned images beforehand for a smooth application process. The specification of the images are as follows:

Selecting Test Centres


The COMEDK exam is conducted at more than 300 centres across the nation. Candidates are provided with the option of selecting 3 exam centres while filling the application form. The choices for the exam centres are to be provided in the order of priority.


Fee Payment


After selecting exam centres, candidates are required to make payment of the application fee. The fee can be paid only through Internet banking, credit cards, or debit cards. The application fee for all categories is the same.

The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Mock Test


The exam conducting authorities releases 6 mock tests for candidates to understand the exam pattern in a better way.  Mock tests help in getting familiar with the type of questions and working on time management and accuracy. Candidates must take part in mock tests for better preparation. Mock tests can be accessed using the login ID and password.


COMEDK UGET 2020 Syllabus


The COMEDK entrance exam is based on the existing syllabus of class XI and XII / First and Second PUC. Thus, candidates must carefully study the curriculum of their class XI and XII.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Admit Card


The provisional answer key for COMEDK UGET 2020 exam will be tentatively released in the second week of June 2020. Candidates are required to download the admit card through their COMEDK login details. No admit card will be sent through email or post under any circumstances. Admit card is an important document for making entry to the examination hall. Make sure that the invigilator signs you admit card. And, the admit card has to be retained till the counselling process and completion of admission.


COMEDK UGET 2020 Answer Key


The provisional answer key for COMEDK UGET 2020 exam will be tentatively released in the third week of May 2020. Candidates have the opportunity to seek clarification/ raise objection against the provisional answer key on payment of Rs. 500 per objection. The payment is to be made only through the online mode. If the objection raised by the candidate is found to be correct, the fee will be refunded to the same account through which the payment is made.


The final answer key will be released after updates in the provisional answer key (if any) before the result announcement. No objections will be accepted against the final answer key. The result is prepared on the basis of the final answer key.


COMEDK UGET 2020 Result


The COMEDK UGET 2020 result is made available at the official website and candidates can check the same using their login ID and password. Candidates should download the rank card as it is required at the time of counselling.


COMEDK UGET 2020 Counselling

The counselling process is carried out through the offline mode. Candidates are allotted counselling venues on the basis of their ranks. They are required to report in person at the allotted counselling venue. The counselling process comprises of document verification, biometric verification, seat allotment, and admission formalities.
