Until 2018, JEE Main exam was being conducted once a year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). However, from 2019, it has been decided that the JEE Main exam will be conducted twice a year and the conducting authority will be National Testing Agency (NTA) instead of CBSE. The first JEE Main exam by NTA was conducted in January 2019.
