IPU CET – Tentative Schedule, Exam Pattern, Syllabus, and Application Process

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) offers UG and PG level courses. And, for admission to these courses, a Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted. Candidates interested in pursuing engineering, law, management, etc. courses are required to appear for the IPU CET exam. Medical admissions are done on the basis of NEET score. IPU CET 2020 Exam Pattern

 

The IPU CET exam is conducted through the pen and paper based mode. A total of 150 MCQs are asked in the exam. Here are the details of the exam:

Exceptions

 

In M.A., there will be 100 MCQs in Part-1 and essay type questions in Part-2.

IPU CET 2020 Syllabus

 

The syllabus for the IPU CET exam varies as per the courses. For UG level courses, candidates are required to prepare on the basis of class 11th and 12th syllabus while for the PG courses, on the basis of UG syllabus. For further details, read the information bulletin.

 

IPU CET 2020 Eligibility

 

The eligibility criteria is different for UG and PG level courses. Here is the eligibility criteria for various programmes:

 

Nationality – Indian citizen

 

Age Limit

For UG courses – 17 to 21 years old. Candidate’s age must not exceed 21 years as on 1st August 2020.

For PG courses – The maximum age limit for PG courses is 35 years.

For UG courses

B.Tech.Passed 12th class with minimum 55% marks in PCM along with English as one of the subjects. Candidates appearing in class 12th examination are also eligible.
BCAPassed class 12th with at least 50% marks with pass in English and Mathematics or Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Informatics Practice/ Data Management Application/ Multimedia & Web Technology/ Web Application as a compulsory subject for the non-vocational stream.
BBAPassed 12th class with English as a compulsory subject. The minimum marks must be 50%.
LLBGraduation with at least 50% marks
BA LLB/ BBA LLBPassed class 12th with minimum 50% marks and English as a subject.

 

For PG courses

IPU CET 2020 Application Process

 

The IPU CET application forms are available only through the online mode. Candidates must visit the official website and complete the application submission process before the last date. Here are the steps to be followed:

 

  • Go to the official website –http://www.ipu.ac.in/.
  • Click on the online admission link.
  • Enter the details for registration such as candidate’s name, parent’s name, Mailing address, contact information, etc.
  • The registration details will be sent to candidate’s registered email ID.
  • Login using the registration number and password.
  • Complete the remaining details in the application form.
  • Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature.
  • Make the application fee payment. The application fee for IPU CET is Rs. 1000/- and can be paid through credit card/ debit card/ Internet banking.
  • Submit the completed application and take a print of the confirmation page.

 

IPU CET 2020 Admit Card

 

The IPU CET admit card is released online at the official website one or two weeks prior to the examination. Candidates can download the same using their log-in details. Admit card is a necessary document to be carried to the examination hall along with a photo ID proof.

 

IPU CET 2020 Result

 

IPU CET result is published through the official website and candidates can check the same using their login details. The result for all the programmes is released on different dates. So, keep a check on the official website for updates.

 

Counselling

 

On the basis of IPU CET scores, candidates are called for the counselling process. The schedule of the counselling is released at the official website. Candidates are required to take part in the counselling process for admission into the University.
