JEE Main Admissions 2019 – Counselling & Seat Allotment by JoSAA

The JEE Main admissions 2019 will begin after the completion of January and April exams. The result of the First and Second Attempts will be declared separately on 31st January and 30 April 2019 respectively. The admission process will take place after that. Though NTA will conduct the exam and declare the result, JoSAA has been entrusted with the responsibilities to carry out the JEE Main admission procedure.

JoSAA, which is also known as Joint Seat Allocation Authority, will begin the process for all the eligible students. The process is likely to be started from the second/ third week of June 2019 and will continue till the fourth week of July 2019 where the qualified candidates will be required to participate in the JEE Main 2019 counselling and seat allotment process in online mode. JoSAA will allot seats based on the candidates’ performance and merit.

Candidates will be offered admission based on their choices and AIR of JEE Main 2019 through a Seat Allocation Process.

There will be several rounds where the qualified aspirants need to give their preference of choices online for the programmes, branches, seats and colleges. The next round would be the document verification, which will be carried out at the time of admission or Seat Allocation Process. The verification of the documents would be done to validate identification, state of eligibility, disability (if applicable), qualifying examination, age and category. Reserved category candidates are required to produce the original certificates in the prescribed format. Not adhering to the rules or failing to provide these documents at the time of admission will result in the cancellation of admission.

Qualified candidates need to participate in the counselling and seat allotment process to secure a seat in the preferred college –

Step 1 – Registration: Register with JoSAA by using the roll number and password.

The counselling conducting authority will organise mock allotment rounds before providing seats. The mock allotment will give an opportunity to students to understand how the process works. It will further help them make the right decision.

Step 4 – Payment & Seat Acceptance: After candidates are allotted seats, they need to choose the seat and remit the fee through e-challan or net banking. The Seat Acceptance fee for general candidates is Rs. 45,000/- and for reserved category, it is Rs. 20,000/-.

Step 5 – Document Verification: An important segment, students must produce the original certificates (if applicable) at the time of verification.
