SRMJEEE 2020 – Application Process, Eligibility Criteria, and Exam Pattern for B.Tech. Admissions

Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Institute of Science and Technology (earlier known as SRM University) conducts a Joint Engineering Entrance Exam (JEEE) for admission to B.Tech. courses offered at the SRM Group of Universities viz.

 

SRM University, AP–Amaravati

SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai

SRM University Haryana – Sonepat

 

SRMJEEE is a University level exam which is conducted once in a year. Candidates interested in this examination must check details such as eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus, the application process, admit card, and result in the article.

 

SRMJEEE 2020 Latest Update – The online application process for the SRMJEEE will tentatively begin from the last week of October 2019. Candidates must keep a check at the official website.

Eligibility

 

Nationality

 

Resident Indians, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), and PIO/OCI card holders.

 

Age (as on 31st July of the year of examination)

 

Minimum age limit is 16 years and maximum age limit is 21 years.

 

Educational Qualification

 

Passed 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Botany & Zoology as major subjects from a recognised board. Candidates appearing in the 10+2 level examination are also eligible for appearing in the examination.

 

Application Process

 

Candidates are advised to fill the application form within the given time period through both online and offline mode. Keeping the following documents ready before the application process will help in filling the application form quickly:

 

  • Scanned image of recent passport size photograph
  • Scanned image of candidate’s signature
  • Class 10th Marksheet
  • Class 12th Marksheet
  • Internet banking details

 

All scanned images must be in JPEG format.

 

Steps to Fill the SRMJEEE Application Form

 

  • Visit the official website of SRM University and click on the link to apply.
  • Enter the details for completing the registration.
  • After successful registration, you will receive the application number and password.
  • Login using the application number and password.
  • Fill the remaining application form for details such as examination centre, educational qualifications, and upload the scanned images.
  • Make fee payment and after successful payment of fee, take a print of the confirmation page.

 

Application Fee

 

The application fee for the SRMJEEE exam is 1100/- per slot.

 

Exam Pattern

 

The SRMJEE exam is conducted online for two and a half hours. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are asked from the following sections:

Candidates are required to select from Mathematics and Biology based on the course they want to pursue. Those interested in B.Tech. Biotechnology, must opt for Biology instead of Mathematics for the SRMJEE. There is no negative marking in the exam. The question paper will be only in the English language.

 

The institute also releases Mock Tests at the official website which help the candidates in understanding the exam pattern. So, candidates must practice the mock tests to know the exam pattern and work on their speed and accuracy. The mock test can be accessed using the login details.

Physics – Units and Measurement, Mechanics, Gravitation, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, Oscillations and Wave Motion, Heat and Thermodynamics, Ray and Wave Optics, Electricity and Magnetism, Atomic Physics and Relativity, Dual Nature of Matter and Nuclear Physics,  and Electronics and Communication.

 

Chemistry – Atomic Structure, States of Matter, Chemical Families–Periodic Properties, Chemical Bonding, Molecular Structure and s-& p- block elements, Chemical Thermodynamics & Energetics, Solutions, Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry,  Surface Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Catalysis and Nuclear Chemistry, Purification and Characterisation of Organic Compounds,  Some Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons,  Organic Compounds Containing Oxygen, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen, Polymers, and Biomolecules.

 

Mathematics – Sets, Relations and Functions, Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations, Matrices, Determinants and their applications, Combinatorics, Algebra,  Differential Calculus and its applications, Integral Calculus & Differential Equations of First Order, Analytical Geometry,  Vector Algebra, and Statistics and Probability.

 

Biology

BOTANY: Taxonomy of Angiosperm, Plant Anatomy, Cell Biology and Genetics, Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, and Biology in Human Welfare.

ZOOLOGY: Human Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology, Modern Genetics and Animal Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Applied Biology, and Theories of Evolution.

 

SRMJEEE UG Admit Card

 

The SRMJEE admit card is issued to only eligible candidates who have completed the application form and submitted it on time. The admit card/hall ticket can be downloaded from the official website using the log-in details. Candidates must check all the details on the hall ticket carefully and report discrepancies to the Director, Admissions. Candidates will not be allowed to take the examination without admit card. Candidates are required to carry the Aadhaar card along with the hall ticket to the examination centre. As per the official notification, “The hall ticket is an important document. It should be preserved and produced at the time of counselling and admission.”

 

SRMJEEE UG Result

 

A merit list is prepared on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in the SRMJEEE UG exam. The result is published at the official website and candidates can download the same using their login credentials. Candidates are also intimated about the result through their registered e-mail ID.

 

SRMJEEE UG Counselling

 

The counselling process is carried on after the result announcement. Candidates are required to register for the counselling process in order to get admission in their preferred college. After seat allotment, physical reporting at the allotted college is necessary for completing the counselling process.
